Philosophy & Goals

Goal: To provide a highly interactive and hands on physical environment. For example, a carpentry area with real tools and equipment for the children to use.
In order to avoid unacceptable risks, children need a physical safe environment at all times.
Goal: To ensure the safety of all children.
In order to maintain healthy bodies and support the ability to learn, children require proper nutrition.
Goal: We will provide health snacks that are in accordance with the Canada Food Guide.
Children need a sense of emotional security in order to freely explore their environment.
Goal: Having a staff child ratio will help to provide opportunities for children to receive quality one-to-one interactions, which allow them to feel secure in exploring their environment.
Each child is an individual with leaning styles and rates of development.
Goal: In order to understand and incorporate the individual learning styles and rates of development into the program, the educator's have specific times when they will be observing and taking notes on each child as they play and interact with their peers.
In order to support the children's individuality, they are given the right to make choices and decisions for themselves.
Goal: We will provide children with opportunity to make choices and decisions. For example, children may choose which activity to participate in and the equipment they want to use.
